What are DTF transfers?
Direct-to-Film (DTF) transfers are full-color prints made with specialized inks on film, coated with adhesive powder, then cured. You press the film onto your garment with heat and pressure, peel, and re-press for a buttery-smooth finish.
- Durability: when pressed and cared for correctly, DTF routinely survives 50+ washes without cracking or major fading.
- Detail: excellent for gradients, photos, tiny text, and multi-color art—no weeding.
- Versatile: works on cotton, poly, blends, darks, lights, and more (see next question).
Ready to press? See the Quick Reference Chart for temps, times, and peel type.
What materials can DTF transfers be applied to?
DTF shines on most apparel and many soft goods:
- Fabrics: cotton, polyester, 50/50 blends, canvas, denim, spandex/athletic knits, triblends.
- Specialty: leather or faux leather (test first), tote bags, aprons, some hats with flat panels.
- Hard goods: certain sealed woods/metals for patches or labels (use a flat press and test).
Compared with sublimation: sublimation needs light-colored polyester. DTF bonds to cotton and dark garments too—far more flexible.
What is a gang sheet?
A gang sheet is a single, larger sheet filled with multiple designs that you arrange together to reduce cost per print. Pack it full—logos, chest hits, neck tags, sleeve prints—whatever you need.
Want step-by-step? Open DTF Guides and start with Builder Workflow: A→Z. The Auto Fill tool can duplicate a design to fill leftover space in one click.
What file/image requirements do you need?
- PNG with transparent background (high-quality SVG accepted).
- 300 DPI at final print size (web images/screenshots at 72 DPI will look blurry).
- Size artwork in inches to your exact print dimensions before upload.
- Do not mirror—our system mirrors automatically.
- Clean edges only: remove any background color. What you upload is what prints.
Need help cleaning or sharpening files? In the builder use Remove Background and Upscale to 300 DPI.
What size transfers should I order for garments?
These are common print widths based on size.
Always measure your actual garment for best results.
- Infants: ~5″
- Toddlers: 6–7″
- Youth: 8–9″
- Adult S–XL: 10–11″
- Adult 2XL–3XL: 12–13″
- Adult 4XL–5XL: 13–14″
Placing multiple sizes on one sheet? Use Auto Build or Manual Layout to nest sizes tightly and save space.
Do you offer exchanges?
Yes—for blank, undecorated apparel only. Items must be unworn, unwashed, odor-free, and in resalable condition.
- Window: 7 days from pickup.
- Exclusions: custom printed/heat-applied items are final sale.
See full terms in Our Policies → Exchanges.
Do you have order minimums?
No minimums. Order exactly what you need—one print or a thousand.
To stretch your budget, pack a gang sheet and use Auto Fill on repeat logos.
What is your turnaround time?
Standard: 1–3 business days (excludes weekends/holidays). You’ll receive an email when your order is ready.
Time starts when print-ready files are approved and payment is complete. Complex setups or manual gang-sheet service may add require extra time.
How does local pickup work?
- Pickup only: 3680 Highway 61 N, Cleveland, MS 38732
- Hours: Mon–Sat, 10am–6pm
- Notice: you’ll get an email when your order is ready.
We currently do not offer shipping.
What if there's an issue with my order?
We stand behind our quality and fix genuine errors quickly.
- At pickup: please check your order (sizes/quantities/designs) before leaving.
- Report window: apparel size/color/style issues within 2 days of pickup; custom print misprints within 3 business days (include photos).
- Resolution: qualifying issues are reprinted at no charge at the next available print slot.
For gang sheets, we print exactly as submitted. Image quality, background removal, sizing, and quantities are the customer’s responsibility. See Print-Ready Checklist and Enhancement Tools before ordering.
How long do DTF prints last?
With correct pressing and care, DTF typically holds up for 50+ washes without major cracking or fading. Longevity depends on:
- Proper press: temperature, pressure, and time (see Quick Press Chart).
- Re-press: a 5-second cover press locks in the finish.
- Care: wash inside-out, cool water, low heat dry (see Care Instructions).
Can I layer DTF with HTV, or stack multiple transfers?
Best practice: apply one DTF layer per location. You can combine DTF with HTV, but avoid putting HTV under DTF.
- DTF over HTV: not recommended—adhesion can suffer.
- HTV over DTF: possible using low-temp HTV (e.g., Turbo/Stretch), very short press; test first.
- Multiple DTF pieces: align and press in one cycle if possible rather than multiple re-heats.
Always test on a spare garment. Use a pressing pillow for seams/zippers.
Can you heat press my image onto shirts for me?
- Pricing: $5 for the first press location, +$3 for each additional location. Examples: 1 location = $5 · Front + Back = $8 · Front + Back + Sleeves = $11 · 4 locations = $14.
- How to add it: On any DTF Transfer or Blank Apparel product page, choose Pressing Service and select locations (Front, Back, Left/Right Sleeve, Left Chest/Pocket, Hood). Add optional notes for placement.
- Scheduling & queue: Orders print on our scheduled print days and are processed in the order paid/submitted. No rush/line-jumping options.
Standard Placement (used when you don’t specify)
- Front center chest: top of design ~2.5–3.0″ below collar (adult); youth ~2.0–2.5″.
- Left chest/pocket: 3.5–4.0″ wide, centered over pocket/left chest.
- Full back: top of design ~2″ below collar.
- Sleeve: 1″ up from sleeve hem, centered.
- Tolerance: Placement ±0.25–0.5″ is within commercial standards due to normal garment variation.
Washing Care
- Care: Wait 24–48 hours before washing. Wash inside out, cool water, mild detergent. Hang dry or low heat. Do not iron directly on the design.
Quality, Reprints & Limitations
- Our error: If we misplace beyond tolerance, scorch, or damage during pressing, we will re-press at no charge on a new garment from our stock.
- Artwork as submitted: We press exactly what you upload/approve. We are not responsible for low-resolution art, unintended backgrounds, or sizing selected by the customer.
- Reporting window: Report pressing issues with photos within 2 business days of pickup so we can evaluate quickly.
- Finality: Decorated apparel is final sale. Pressing fees are non-refundable once production begins.
Print-Ready Checklist File Requirements
- PNG only (transparent background). High-quality SVG also accepted.
- 300 DPI at final print size. Files from the web/screenshots (72 DPI) will print blurry.
- Size your artwork in inches to the exact print dimensions (double-check width/height).
- Do not mirror your design—our system mirrors automatically.
- Clean edges only: remove any background color; what you upload is what prints.
- Text/line weight: keep fine details ≥ 1.5–2 pt for best results.
- Color: use RGB; avoid over-transparent effects under 10% opacity.
- Licensing: ensure you have commercial rights for any purchased or AI artwork.
Tip: Not sure your file is ready? See Image Enhancement Tools in the DTF Guides for background removal and AI upscaling to 300 DPI.
How do I use your gang sheet builder?
Our online builder offers four options. Choose the one that matches your workflow:
- Auto Build (Fastest): upload multiple designs, set quantities, and the system arranges everything automatically.
- Upload by Size (Individual Prints): precise control—set exact width/height, quantity, background removal, and AI upscaling.
- Names & Numbers: enter a roster and jersey numbers; the tool pairs and lays them out for teams and uniforms.
- Previous Orders: open a past sheet to reorder or tweak without starting from scratch.
New to the builder? Follow the step-by-step in the DTF Guides starting at Builder Workflow: A to Z.
Prefer to skip the builder? Use Individual Prints by Size to upload single designs with exact dimensions.
Where can I find designs for DTF printing?
- Create your own in Canva, Photoshop, Affinity, or Illustrator (export as 300-DPI PNG with transparent background).
- Creative Fabrica – huge commercial-use library: browse designs.
- Etsy – artist-made PNGs and custom commissions (check the license).
- Design Bundles / Creative Market – curated commercial-use graphics.
Reminder: Always verify you have the right to print and use the artwork you upload.
How do I download transparent PNGs from Canva?
- In Canva, click Share (top-right) → Download.
- Choose PNG as the file type.
- Check Transparent background (Canva Pro).
- Set the Size so the exported pixels match your print inches × 300 DPI (e.g., 10″ wide ≈ 3000 px).
- Click Download.
You can also design inside our builder using the Canva Integration and export straight into your gallery.
Can you create my gang sheet for me?
Yes. If you’d rather send us your files, we’ll build the sheet for you.
- Service: Manual gang sheet setup & file check.
- Fee: $19.99 setup deposit (applied to your order total).
- What we do: arrange for maximum space efficiency, spot obvious issues (low DPI, backgrounds), and confirm final sizes.
- Proof: we’ll send a preview for approval before printing.
- Timeline: setup within 1 business day once files are received.
Full terms are in our Custom Design Service Policy.
My images aren’t showing after upload — help
- Start uploads from the Home screen (not the Uploads tab).
- Confirm you’re signed into your account.
- After uploading, open the Uploads tab and click Refresh.
- Large files may take a moment—wait 10–15 seconds and refresh again.
- Still stuck? Follow the screenshots in Uploads & Gallery.
If an image looks blurry, use Upscale Quality to boost it to 300 DPI before placing it on the sheet.
I don’t want to use the builder, Can I order single designs by size?
Yes! use Individual Prints by Size to upload a single PNG and set the exact width/height and quantity. This is ideal when you don’t need a full gang sheet layout.
Need several sizes of the same logo? Add each size as a separate line using the same artwork.
What if I don't have my image created or it needs to be edited?
- Create a brand-new design from your concept or idea.
- Remove or change the background of an image.
- Add or change text, names, or numbers.
- Adjust or correct colors to ensure they are print-perfect.
How It Works: A Simple 3-Step Process
- Order the Service & Pay Your Deposit To get started, purchase this service for a $20.00 non-refundable deposit. This secures your spot in our queue and is deducted from your final order total. After you complete the checkout, we will be in touch to begin the creative process.
- We Design & Send Your Proof Our team will contact you to start the design process. We will create a proof for your review. To ensure we get the design just right, your service includes two rounds of minor revisions.
- Approve & Pay Final Invoice to Begin Printing Once you give final approval on the design proof, we will email your final invoice with the $20.00 deposit already deducted. The final invoice must be paid in full before any printing will begin.
Please Note:
- Turnaround Time: The 4-7 business day turnaround for custom work begins after your final invoice is paid. This timeline is dependent on prompt communication; delays in providing feedback or approving proofs will extend your project timeline.
- Additional Edits: Changes requested after the second round of revisions will be billed at an additional $10 per revised proof.
- Our Guarantee: Your deposit is non-refundable. However, in the rare event that we are unable to fulfill your design request, we will issue a full refund of your deposit and notify you immediately.
Quick Reference Chart
| Material | Temp | Time: 1st Press | 2nd Press | Pressure | Peel |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DTF Transfers | 300–315°F | 10–15s | +5s (covered) | Firm | Hot (preferred)/Cold (thin lines) |
| Solid HTV | 305°F | 10–15s | +5s (covered) | Medium | Hot / Cold |
| Glitter HTV | 305°F | 15–20s | +5s (covered) | Medium | Cold |
| Puff HTV | 305°F | 8–12s | — | Firm | Hot |
| Iron-On Patches | 330°F | 30s | — | Firm | No peel, Check edges of patch |
DTF Heat Press Method
- Temp: 300–315°F
- Time: 1st Press 10–15s • 2nd Press 5s (covered)
- Pressure: Medium–firm (consistent, even pressure)
- Peel: Hot for most garments • Cold/Warm for fine lines, textures, or if edges lift
Steps:
- Pre-press the garment 3–5s to remove moisture and flatten fibers.
- Position transfer film side up, design/ink touching the garment.
- Cover the design with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet.
- Press 10–15s at 300–315°F with medium–firm pressure.
- Peel the carrier: hot for most; for delicate/fine detail, let cool to warm/cold and peel slowly at a low angle.
- Second press 5s (covered) to seal the ink and boost wash durability.
Tips: Always test on scrap or a sample garment first. Verify platen temperature with an Infrared thermometer to spot cold areas on heat press. If using a Cricut EasyPress, work on a hard, stable surface and apply firm downward pressure with both hands. If edges lift, increase pressure slightly or add 3–5s; if the print looks overly glossy/compressed, reduce time or temperature slightly.
DTF Home Iron Method
- Setting: Cotton/high heat, steam OFF
- Time: 15–20s per section
- Pressure: Firm, steady
Steps: Pre-iron garment → Place transfer film side up → Cover with parchment → Press firmly, moving slowly → Peel hot → Re-iron with parchment.
Care Instructions
- Wait 24–48 hrs before washing
- Wash inside out, cold/low water
- Mild detergent only — no bleach/fabric softener
- Hang dry or tumble low
- Never iron directly on design

- Puff: 320°F, 15s, medium, warm peel
- ThermoFlex Plus: 330–335°F, 15–17s, medium-firm, warm peel
- StarCraft SoftFlex: 285°F, 8–10s, medium-firm, warm peel
Adhesive Vinyl (Hard Surfaces / Sticky Vinyl)
- Clean surface with alcohol
- Apply with squeegee at 45° angle
- Remove tape slowly at low angle
- Allow to Cure 24–48 hrs before moisture exposure

Will colors match my screen exactly?
Screens vary (brightness, profiles), so an exact match isn’t guaranteed. We print with a calibrated profile for vibrant, consistent results.
- Best input: send RGB artwork and include HEX/RGB values for critical brand colors.
- Neons/metallics: simulated—see special effects.
- Proofing: for mission-critical color, order a small test print.
Do you print white ink?
Yes. Our printer lays a white underbase beneath your color layer so designs pop on dark garments. Transparent areas remain garment color (make sure your PNG background is really transparent).
What’s the smallest text or detail you can print?
- Line weight: keep strokes ≥ 1.5–2 pt.
- Text: aim for ≥ 8–10 pt depending on font weight.
- Negative space: avoid ultra-thin gaps that may close up when cured/pressed.
If it’s borderline, upscale to 300 DPI or thicken strokes before uploading (see Enhancement Tools).
Can you do metallic, glitter, puff, or neon effects?
DTF can simulate metallic/glitter/puff in print, but it isn’t true foil, glitter, or foam. For tactile effects:
- Glitter / Holographic / Metallic: use HTV specialty films (see HTV Settings).
- Puff: use Puff HTV for a raised texture.
- Neons: DTF prints bright; ultra-fluorescent “blacklight” tones may need neon HTV.
Can I press DTF on nylon, waterproof, or heat-sensitive fabrics?
Sometimes. Results vary by coating and weave. Use lower temps, short presses, and always test first.
- Try the low end of the chart, firm pressure, quick peels.
- Use a pressing pillow to clear seams and keep pressure even.
- If adhesion is poor, consider nylon-rated HTV or iron-on patches (330°F · 30s · firm · no peel).
My transfer didn’t stick or looks dull, what went wrong?
- Heat/pressure: most failures are too cool or too light. Verify with an IR thermometer and increase pressure.
- Moisture: always pre-press 5s to remove moisture and wrinkles.
- Hot vs. cold peel: try the opposite peel timing; very fine lines may prefer a cooler peel.
- Seams/zippers: use a pressing pillow so the platen contacts the print area evenly.
- Care: avoid fabric softeners; wash inside-out, cool water.

Do you keep my artwork for reorders?
Uploads are saved to your account and tied to your orders. You can reorder quickly via Open a Previous Order. If you delete files in your account, please re-upload for future prints.
Can I reorder a previous gang sheet?
Yes—open the builder and choose Open a Previously Ordered Gang Sheet. You can reorder as-is or adjust quantities and minor placements before checkout.
If you only need one or two individual logos, use Individual Prints by Size for the fastest path.
How do I order team names and numbers?
Use the Names & Numbers tool in the builder. It pairs each name with a jersey number and lays everything out for you.
- Open Names & Numbers from the builder dashboard.
- Choose font, size, and color.
- Paste your roster list and player numbers.
- Set quantities and Confirm—the sheet auto-arranges.
Have a long roster? Prepare it in a text file first for quick copy/paste.
